A Thousand Pines is a feature length documentary that follows a Mexican tree planting crew over the course of one season
as they plant trees for the United States' largest reforestation company.

A vérité view of a billion dollar industry, the film centers on the crew's foreman, Raymundo Morales, who is in his 19th season working for the largest reforestation company in the US. When he began, he was single and had few responsibilities. Now, however, he must balance his obligations to his wife, his children, and his elderly mother with a heart condition, while also tending to the needs and emergencies of the planting crew.

The film won Best Feature Documentary at the Alameda International Film Fest and the Buffalo International Film Fest,
and it is airing nationally on PBS with Independent Lens.
